A2 Midhurst Hill Footbridge

Description

Nusteel were awarded the contract to design, fabricate, paint and install this new bridge connecting Bexley and Bexleyheath. The structure is composed of a 52 metre partially Top-tied Bow Warren span and over 120 metres of Twin-stringer approach ramps. A triple flight of stairs consisting of 24 risers and 2 rest platforms sits at the Southern end of the mainspan.

Materials

The main hollow steel sections are hot rolled to BS EN 10210:2006 S355J2H with the plates and sections to BS EN 10025:2004 S355J2+N. A Highways England Type 2 paint system was used in conjunction with a combined waterproofing and anti-slip decking system.
